Klaviyo

Almost every brand we work with has untapped revenue sitting in Klaviyo. While the search fundamentals are being built, email is where commercial impact arrives first, and it usually arrives fast.

If your account holds more than 10,000 profiles, we can help. The work is strategy, setup, optimisation, and training, all of it built on the connection Shopify and Klaviyo share, with the same fanatical detail we bring to everything else. Alongside Shopify SEO, it is how the brands we work with win customers and keep them.

Most Klaviyo accounts were set up fast and left running. The flows still fire. The revenue they represent, abandoned baskets, lapsed customers, missed post-purchase moments, does not come back unless someone goes looking for it.

Why Naughton & Bird

Two decades of e-commerce discipline

We are a Shopify Plus Partner and Klaviyo Master Gold consultancy, working the fundamentals of winning and keeping customers since 2008. Retention is half of that discipline, and Klaviyo is where it runs.

From mail order to Google to agents, the fundamentals have not changed: acquire quality customers at the best possible price, and keep them. We work with established brands whose reputations are already earned, across the UK, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Australia, and we teach your team as we go, so the capability stays in-house.

The opportunity

Search finds the customer and Klaviyo wins the order

As search expands, new people discover the brand, and most of them sign up before they buy. Those prospects arrive on a welcome flow that gets the brand across and nurtures them to a first order, and from there the work moves to the second order, bringing it forward so the routine that defines a loyal customer starts sooner.

It is also why Klaviyo is usually the fastest commercial impact available. While the search fundamentals are being put in place, an account with a steady feed of new subscribers can start earning almost straight away.

The audit establishes what is there and what the headroom is worth. The engagement builds it, and the programme compounds from there.

Built to empower your in-house team

Every engagement includes working documentation and hands-on training, so the team inside the business finishes more capable than it started, including on deliverability: what to watch, how to read it, and when to act.

01

Flow documentation

Logic maps, trigger conditions, and suppression rules for every active flow, written for the team who will maintain them.

02

Segment library

Named, annotated segments built for the brand's specific customer lifecycle, not generic platform defaults.

03

Campaign playbook

Cadence, audience selection, and A/B test framework for ongoing sends, so the team can run campaigns without starting from scratch each time.

Klaviyo FAQs

For an account holding more than 10,000 profiles, almost always. At that size there is nearly always revenue the account is not collecting, and the audit will show you the gap between what it returns today and what a fully built programme would. If the economics do not stack up for your list, we will say so.

The fundamentals first: deliverability, sending domains, DKIM, and DMARC. Then list health (how much of the list is active, dormant, or about to lapse), segmentation, flow coverage, and how sign-ups are captured through pop-ups and embedded forms. The output is a short written summary of the biggest opportunities in priority order, each with a specific recommendation.

Within five working days. It works with the account as it already exists, no data export or list changes required, and comes back as a ranked list of opportunities with a specific recommendation for each. It runs on its own clock, separate from a migration, so you can commission it whenever you want a clear picture of where the account stands, whether or not a bigger project follows.

A build on its own runs four to six weeks. Migration adds two more phases: first, exporting contacts, suppressions and unsubscribes from the old platform and setting up sending domains, DKIM and DMARC on the new one; then, while we build and test the flow set (welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back), the new sending domain warms up in parallel, sending in gradually increasing volume so it has the reputation to carry the full list at cutover. A large list or one with messy existing data extends the warm-up; a small, clean list moves faster.

Not losing contacts, that part is mechanical. The risk that matters is deliverability: importing the full list and sending to all of it at once, from a sending domain that has no history with any inbox provider yet. Gmail and Outlook read an unfamiliar domain sending in volume as a signal to distrust, and route the mail to junk before anyone reads it, which tanks the exact deliverability the migration was supposed to protect. We warm the new domain up gradually and carry suppressions and unsubscribes across correctly, so the account is healthy from the first send.

There is no single number worth chasing: what matters is trajectory and spread. A well-segmented account sees flow opens sitting well above campaign opens, and a declining trend is a deliverability question before it is a content one. Klaviyo publishes rough benchmarks by industry inside the platform; the audit benchmarks your account against others in your specific category for a sharper comparison.

Yes, if the list is segmented for it. Between peaks, the job is holding back from people who do not want to hear from you right now and sending only when it counts for them, so the list is warm and ready when the season turns. Klaviyo's predictive analytics make that judgement sharper than a calendar guess ever could.
