AI search visibility for premium brands in the UAE

AI models are increasingly where premium purchase research starts in the UAE, the world's heaviest adopter of AI tools. The brands appearing in those recommendations built for it deliberately, most of the market has not, and this is the work.

AI search behaviour in the UAE

The UAE leads the world in AI adoption. Microsoft's AI Diffusion Report put the share of the UAE population using AI tools at 64 percent in the second half of 2025, the highest of any country measured, ahead of Singapore in second place. The high-income expatriate professionals driving that number are also the primary premium buyer demographic in Dubai.

Premium purchase research increasingly starts with an AI question rather than a search query. The buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity to recommend premium home furnishing brands that ship to Dubai, or the best jewellery available in the Middle East, and the brands appearing in those answers are capturing intent at a stage traditional analytics never sees.

What drives visibility in the UAE AI context

The signals are the same ones that drive AI visibility everywhere, entity clarity, structured content and earned authority. What most international brands are missing is the UAE-specific content that creates them locally.

A page that addresses UAE delivery, local stockist availability and pricing in dirhams sends a far stronger UAE relevance signal than a generic international page that mentions worldwide shipping. The specificity is what the models latch onto, and it is the same specificity the Dubai search opportunity rewards, which is why the two programmes are one budget.

Press coverage in UAE-relevant publications, Arabian Business, Time Out Dubai, The National, shapes how models understand the market. Few international brands have more than minimal coverage in those outlets, which keeps the door open for the ones that pursue it.

Testing from the UAE buyer's seat

The audit is the standard repeated query set with the market written into it, because a generic category query tests global visibility while the UAE buyer asks the localised version.

  1. Write ten buying queries the way the Dubai buyer phrases them: the category plus delivery to Dubai, availability in the UAE, dirham budgets and gifting occasions.
  2. Run them in ChatGPT and the other platforms the market uses, recording which brands are named, how described, and which sources the answers cite.
  3. Run the branded queries too, and note whether the model knows the brand ships to the UAE at all, because a wrong answer there is repelling ready buyers invisibly.
  4. Where Arabic matters to the brand, run the set in Arabic as well, since the answers and the competitive field both differ by language.

The cited sources are the work plan: whichever UAE publications and comparison pages the answers already trust are the places the earned-coverage effort goes first.

The product layer is already live

The recommendation layer sits on top of a transactional one that switched on without most brands noticing: eligible Shopify stores' products are discoverable in AI platforms by default through Agentic Storefronts, with eligibility running through Shopify Catalog and the channels managed in the admin. For a brand selling into the UAE, the immediate checks are whether the store is eligible and enrolled, and whether the product data the Catalog structures states UAE availability accurately.

That makes the order of work for the UAE the same fundamentals-first order as everywhere, with a local layer on top: catalogue and policy data accurate for the market, UAE-specific pages carrying the relevance signals, entity work connecting the brand to the region, and the earned coverage aimed at the outlets the answers cite. Every piece pays on Google and in the AI answers at once, which is the right shape for a market this early.

Questions we hear about UAE AI visibility

ChatGPT leads for the expatriate professional audience, with Copilot present through workplaces and Google's AI surfaces growing as they roll out regionally. Run the same query set across them and let your own category's results set the priority.

Not to appear in English answers, which serve the larger premium segment. Arabic answers draw on Arabic sources, so brands with a real Arabic-speaking audience are competing there only if the localised content exists.

The machinery is identical and the signals are local. UAE relevance comes from market-specific pages, entity connections and UAE coverage, none of which a global programme produces on its own.
